The buyer of a used vehicle will have a period of 30 days from the signing of the contract to make the change of ownership of the vehicle. Once the procedure has been completed, a new circulation permit will be issued, which will only be valid if you have a valid ITV.

Once the vehicle has a license plate and circulation permit, it is when you can acquire the plates, cast them and circulate.

The importation of vehicles to the Canary Islands may incur tax expenses if the registrations are not processed in a timely manner. 

It is important to be registered with the DEV since as of November 1, 2022, the DGT will stop sending paper notifications to Legal Entities. From that moment on, it will be notified exclusively electronically through the Electronic Road Directorate (DEV).

So that another person can sell your car or carry out other procedures with the DGT.
